The Institute of Media Sciences (IMS) will be the part of Faculty of Performing Arts Technology - the well trained professional faculty for Media logy in Pakistan and one of the largest such faculties in the Islamabad
Faculty:
The director of the Institute and other members of the staff are highly qualified and have adequate professional experience of TV programs production. The out standing personalities of film and television are very kindly agreed as our visiting faculty and will be avail able during courses and deliver lectures and make presentations.
Mission:
Institute of Media Sciences has a mission to “educate multimedia professionals with the knowledge, skills and attitudes essential to the analysis, design and implementation of multimedia products, services and systems”. This mission is met through the delivery of a Three Month skill oriented diploma and certificate courses of media sciences. Institute’s courses bring together the study of both technological and graphic design skills plus give you a choice of specializations. A wide range of experts drawn from industry and from the academic staff ensure that you develop knowledge, understanding and skills in all aspects of multimedia sciences.
Studying multimedia at IMS is all about learning in a stimulating and interactive environment. Institute of Media Sciences is a close-knit community of scholars and students that generates an energized atmosphere of innovation, inquiry and up to date industry responsiveness
IMS provides access to specialized high-tech facilities that enable students to study multimedia effectively and creatively. These include flexible access to state of the art computer labs, modern studios, and professional video editing suites. These resources are designed to simulate an industry environment, with a focus on real problem solving and experiential learning.
The Institute makes extensive use of Studio Mode learning. The studios students work in team on the development of an application/exhibition for a client within the studies. Project teams use project planning/management skills, and design and build the project using appropriate software processes and methodologies studied in their other core units. Students integrate multimedia, programming, business and technical knowledge in the development process. Studio requirements are fulfilled by the team producing an identified set of deliverables, usually a project proposal, project plan and feasibility study, a system specification, and finally the project/exhibition itself. The team must ensure that each deliverable is completed on schedule. Each member of the team must demonstrate a significant contribution to the team effort, and display a sense of responsibility for the project outcome.
